2011 года и одновременно флагманская модель компании (не считая обновлённой модели Xperia arc S, выпущенной компанией в октябре 2011 года). Аппарат отличается стильным дизайном, 4,2-дюймовым дисплеем, ОС Android 4 и возможностью записи видео в HD-формате.

Внешний вид Xperia arc вносит некоторое разнообразие в дизайны современных смартфонов, так как отличается дугообразным изгибом корпуса. Эта незначительная деталь дизайна придаёт телефону элегантности. Задняя крышка корпуса вогнута внутрь, образуя нечто вроде дуги, напоминающей арку. Отсюда и название новинки (arc с англ. - арка). В центре дуги толщина корпуса достигает минимума и составляет всего 8,7 мм.

Нововведения

По сравнению с Xperia X10 в Xperia Arc экран стал на 0.2 дюйма больше, при этом Xperia Arc стал всего на несколько миллиметров длиннее Xperia X10. Также он характерен тонким дизайном, в самом тонком месте смартфон имеет толщину 8,7 мм. В аппарате теперь используется новая версия ОС Android 2.3 (с возможностью обновиться до 4.0) с приложением TimeScape, также появилась поддержка мультитача , который в Xperia X10 был ограничен программно и не использовался в первых серийных прошивках. В телефоне используется технология No air gap - специальная технология производства дисплеев, исключающую воздушную прослойку между матрицей и защитным стеклом. При чёрном цвете корпуса экран в режиме ожидания практически сливается с цветом корпуса. Также применён Sony Mobile Bravia Engine и Live color фильтр - специальные технологии, обеспечивающие высокую контрастность и чёткость, реалистичность цветов и картинки в целом.

В фотоаппарате используется новая разработка компании Sony, Exmor R, которая позволяет делать качественные снимки в условиях очень плохого освещения. Также стоит отметить наличие HDMI, который можно подключить к телевизору, чтобы просматривать на нём фотографии, играть в игры и т. д.
